nothing will annoy your wedding guests more than this!!!
Attention all soon-to-be newlyweds! Before you get lost in a sea of cake samples and colour swatches, let’s chat about the unsung heroes of a great wedding – happy guests! Remember, even Cinderella had to deal with a pumpkin and some mice issues. Sometimes, little things that can irk your guests might slip through the cracks. Don’t worry; we’ve got you covered with a guide to avoid common wedding guest pet peeves. Let’s make your wedding the talk of the town for all the right reasons! Below are three things that annoy guests MOST!!!
1. Insufficient bathrooms
Guests often find themselves in a search for a hidden, secret bathroom that doesn’t exist. Imagine the discomfort and annoyance when they have to line up, missing out on key moments of the celebration. Long waits can even delay important events like your first dance or cake cut!! Ensure your venue has enough bathrooms – ideally one per 30 people, but more is always better!
2. Disorganization
Guests can easily become confused and frustrated if they don’t know where to go or what to do next. Unclear directions can disrupt the flow of your event and dampen the festive atmosphere. A planner or a designated person to herd the cats, um, I mean, guide your guests, can be a game-changer. Clear signage and a well-planned itinerary are like GPS for your wedding – they keep everyone on track and in the right place at the right time!
3. Lengthy speeches
While heartfelt speeches are a beautiful part of weddings, as a matter of fact, one of my favourite parts. But when they drag on, guests start eyeing the exit or their watches. This can lead to restlessness and even cause a domino effect of delays. If there are kids at your wedding, you might find yourself hosting a mini-rebellion. A good rule of thumb is to limit each speech to about 4 minutes. Clearly communicate this to your speakers in advance to ensure everything runs smoothly!
A memorable wedding is not just about the big moments, but also about the comfort and experience of your guests. By addressing these common concerns, you can ensure that your wedding is not only a celebration of your love but also a delightful experience for all who attend!
